If you’ve recently left the Force, you’re likely to be highly trained with core skills such as critical thinking and decision making, leadership and teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, experience working in culturally diverse communities, resilience and dependability. Councils need people like you.

To understand how your skills and experience might relate to jobs in local government, the NSW Veterans Employment Program and the Office of Local Government have developed a Local Government Rank to Grade Guide to help veterans in their search for a civilian job.

Read here how Mark Bransdon of Campbelltown City Council and Mick De Groot of Gunnedah Shire Council made the transition from the ADF to Local Government.
