About The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced communications and engagement professional to lead effective community engagement for key Council projects and initiatives. As a subject matter expert, you will provide communication and engagement advice, in-line with IAP2 principles, to ensure appropriate Council projects and initiatives effectively, empower residents to participate in civic life, and inform decision-making processes within the Council.

You will be part of a dynamic Communications and Engagement Unit, working as a Communications and Engagement Advisor. See the Position Description for all the details!

Who We are Looking For

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong background in communications and stakeholder engagement who has:

  • Degree in Communications or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in community and stakeholder engagement roles.
  • Strong understanding of community engagement methodologies and significant experience developing and developing effective engagement strategies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to tailor channels and approaches to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Strong research capabilities, with ability to interpret and analyse a wide range of information and issues.
  • Certification with the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2).

The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver who can build productive relationships and promote a culture of collaboration and respect.

  • Package: From $96,668 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
  • Hours of work: Temporary Full-Time 35 hours per week with option of 19-day month with flex-time arrangement. Opportunity expected to be available for up to 12 months.
