About the role
A permanent full-time opportunity has arisen for a Waste Collector to join our Waste Services team located at the Alexandria Integrated Facility.
As a Waste Collector, you will collaborate with your team to carry out waste collection duties of domestic waste throughout the Woollahra Municipality. You will also assist in driving the waste compactors and drive Council's waste trucks when required.
This position commences at 5:00am from Monday to Friday with the weekend overtime work also available. You will be based at our purpose built integrated facility in Alexandria and is employed under Council's Waste Services Enterprise Agreement.
To be successful for the role, you will be physically fit to undertake the demands of the role. You will be a dedicated worker with the ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively with you peers.
Essential Criteria
- Physical ability to perform general labouring duties as outlined in section 7 of the Position Description.
- HR Licence or willing to obtain within the first 6 months of employment.
- Proven ability to follow work instructions as directed.
- Demonstrated experience and ability to work cooperatively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated awareness of WHS requirements and a willingness to be trained in Councils Safety procedures.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
- Available to work varied hours including early starts.
- Proven reliability and a commitment to Council’s values.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in Waste Collection at Local Government level.
