Surveyor Cadet
Camden Council in partnership with the NSW Government is offering a Civil Engineer (Surveyor) Cadet position as part of the 'Fresh start for Local Government Apprentices, Trainees and Cadets' Program.
SALARY: $803.30 - 1,194.60 pw + Super
*Please note that salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award*
Work Type: Temporary Full Time up to 2 years, commencing early 2025
Location: Oran Park Administration Building - 70 Central Avenue, Oran Park 2570

The Surveyor Cadetship within our Assets and Design Services branch offers the chance to gain valuable on-the-job training while completing a qualification in Surveying. A great way to kick-start a successful career!
The successful cadet will work under direction to provide effective and efficient survey services across Council using modern instruments, while also developing skills to create survey plans and digital terrain models.

Essential:
- Completed a minimum of 2 years of an undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Surveying, Bachelor of Engineering (Surveying) or related qualification
- Basic understanding of modern survey equipment (e.g., Total Stations, GPS)
- Basic knowledge of survey and spatial data software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Current driver's licence (Full, Provisional P1 or Provisional P2)
Desirable:
- Experience using modern survey equipment (e.g., Total Stations, GPS)
- Experience in the investigation and design of road, drainage, traffic or stormwater works
- Previous survey experience
- Traffic controller qualifications
