Position Overview

The Facility Operations Manager plays a critical leadership role in managing the Facility Operations team. This position is responsible for the strategic maintenance and management of the Council's building assets, ensuring optimal performance, safety, and compliance with relevant standards. The successful candidate will drive initiatives that align with the Council's Community Strategic Plan, while also promoting sustainable practises and resource efficiency.

Key responsibilities include overseeing facility maintenance operations, coordinating resources and contractors, managing graffiti prevention programs, and fostering staff development to enhance service outcomes and employee satisfaction.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in facility management and construction, complemented by effective strategic planning and leadership skills.

  • Tertiary qualification in building construction, Management, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing building construction and maintenance operations at a senior level.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to build strategic relationships.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement asset strategies and policies.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in fostering team collaboration and performance.
  • Local Government experience would be advantageous
  • Class C Driver’s Licence.
