The Opportunity

As an Infrastructure Project Planner you will have a pivotal role in shaping the future of our community, leading the strategic planning and design of infrastructure projects that align with the long-term development, sustainability, and strategic goals of Council. You will be responsible for managing the planning and design phases of capital projects, engaging with stakeholders and providing expert advice. In addition to built infrastructure, your experience in place making will equip you to successfully deliver projects including masterplans, plans of management, feasibility studies, and strategic business cases.

Your leadership will inspire cross-divisional teams as you navigate the complexities of planning and design development in a local government environment. Your expertise in planning and design management will ensure that community facilities continue to make the Shire a great place to live for generations to come.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a results-driven professional with a strong background in urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture or project design management. Your ability to navigate complex project environments and deliver exceptional outcomes will set you apart.

  • Tertiary qualifications in urban planning, landscape architecture, architecture, building, project management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven leadership skills and experience in initiation, planning and design development of a diverse range of infrastructure projects within a complex and dynamic environment;
  • Demonstrated experience in the development of strategic documents including masterplans, site development/precinct plans, feasibility studies, business cases, etc.
  • Highly developed analytical, project management and organizational skills with proven ability to assess risks and develop timely, innovative solutions to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to engage effectively with stakeholders and our community.

  • Package: $104,000 - $120,000 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation. (Salary will be determined based on the skills and experience of the successful applicant)
  • Hours of work: Permanent Full Time 35 hours per week with option of 19 day month flex time arrangement.
