Do you have experience in the development and implementation of effective, evidence-based strategic planning for a Local Water Utility? Are you interested in ensuring water & wastewater system capacity as well as planning the works to meet Councils current and future needs? We would like to hear from you!

Council are seeking a professional engineer with 7-10 years experience in the urban and wastewater industry who has an understanding of the application of legislation, guidelines, codes and standards.

You will have highly developed communication/negotiation skills and the ability to work efficiently in this autonomous role.

The Senior Strategy Engineer is responsible for:

• Development and implementation of effective, evidence-based strategic planning
• Ensuring water and wastewater system capacity and capability are understood and planning the works required to meet current and future needs.
• Managing the long-term financial modelling for the water and wastewater funds to support Council’s goal of long-term financial sustainability.
• Responsibility for the provision of specialist engineering advice to the Development Engineering area of Council for the planning, design and management of water and wastewater infrastructure.
• Leading and developing staff

TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED

• Engineering qualifications acceptable for membership of Engineers Australia as a Professional Engineer
• Professional urban water and waste water industry experience including experience in strategic planning.
• WHS General Induction for Construction Work White Card
• Drivers Licence

Please note: If membership requires a Competency Assessment by Engineers Australia, evidence that this has been achieved will need to be provided before progression to interview.

Salary range: Grade 21 - $122,243.96 - $132,277.90 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and leaseback vehicle for a 35 hour work week. Salary may be negotiated based on skills, experience and your value to our organisation.

Flexible working arrangements will be considered by mutual agreement and according to operational requirements.

Shortlisted applicants will be required to undertake a Pre-employment Medical Screening including Alcohol & Other Drugs Testing.
