Your Position:
The Safety & Wellbeing Business Partner will work closely with staff from across the organisation to continue to improve and transform the Safety & Wellbeing function at Council. Council’s leadership team, WHS Committee and Health & Wellbeing Champions are committed to driving innovation and enhancing the way we work and as such, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference to the Burwood team.
You will be charged with:
- Developing, implementing and monitoring Council’s WHS Management System (WHSMS)
- Managing Council’s Recover at Work Program
- Working closely with our Health & Wellbeing Champions to develop and implement Council’s Health & Wellbeing Program and associated activities
- Providing effective specialist WHS and wellbeing advice and guidance to the leadership team and staff
- Coaching, guiding and mentoring Council’s leadership team to ensure best practice safe systems of work are in place and that Council’s safety culture is continually enhanced
- Providing support to the Executive Team to ensure Council’s WHS Plans at both the organisational and directorate levels are developed, implemented and monitored
- Providing regular WHS related reporting to the leadership team
To be successful in this role you will bring:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role where you have had to lead Safety & Wellbeing for an organisation with a diverse range of functions
- Relevant tertiary qualification in WHS or other relevant discipline
- Sound understanding of the Recover at Work process
- Demonstrated experience in building effective relationships at all levels of an organisation
- The ability to deliver safety & wellbeing training
- Outstanding communication skills and ability to prepare meaningful reports
- Strong project management skills and the ability to plan and deliver a range of tasks and projects
- A background in Local Government is desirable, but not essential
Key Requirements:
- COVID-19 vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment
- Willingness to complete a Criminal History Check
- Current Driver's Licence
