- Base annual rate of $79,964.83 - $93,914.81 + 11.5% Superannuation
- 35 hours per week
- Monday to Friday, with a rostered Saturday shift every 8 to 10 weeks.

Your Position:
As the Outreach Services Librarian, you will develop outreach services that enable and encourage access to library collections. This includes oversight of the Home Library Service, providing equitable access to the library for community members unable to visit the library. Your love of reading will drive the development of the adult fiction, large print and audio collections, and the delivery of displays and promotional activities to get our community reading.
Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Co-ordinating the delivery of a high quality Home Library Service (HLS).
- Maintaining and developing the adult fiction, large print and audio collections, including selection with reference to relevant collection development policies and patron profiles to ensure collections are tailored to community needs and the management of shelf ready services for these collections.
- Co-ordinating the promotion of resource borrowing through displays, promotional activities and other activities with an emphasis on Adult Collections.
- Co-ordinating the delivery of external outreach opportunities to promote library membership and the provision of offsite library access points.
- Pursuing opportunities to collaborate with Council departments and community groups, to promote and support library services to the community.
- Collaborating within the Library and Community Hub team to ensure delivery of high-quality customer experiences through outstanding customer service, information and advice regarding the Burwood Library and Community Hub services, programs, activities and events.
- Participating in the service point roster system, including evening and weekend work and perform the role of shift supervisor, as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Degree in Library & Information Services recognised by ALIA and minimum two years’ relevant work experience
- Demonstrated broad knowledge of popular authors, titles and genres of fiction and non-fiction.
- Experience in the provision of high quality information and frontline services, preferably in a public library.
- High-level communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively and sensitively with a range of individuals, agencies and community organisations.
- Demonstrated high-level organisational and interpersonal skills including the ability to think critically and analytically.
Key Requirements:
- Current and valid Working With Children Check.
- NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C).
- National Criminal Record Check (NCRC) – Burwood Council will arrange this for the recommended candidate.
- First Aid Certificate or the willingness to obtain one at own expense.
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment.
- Covid-19 vaccination (minimum 2 doses).
