About the opportunity
Are you passionate about driving change, educating communities and championing sustainable resource recovery?
This is an exciting term contract, full-time opportunity for up to 35 months for a suitably qualified professional to lead and deliver engagement programs to support the delivery of a new resource recovery service at the largest Council in NSW.

Qualifications and experience
Essential:
- Minimum degree level qualifications in an environmental, educational discipline or equivalent
- Relevant local government experience
- Strong capacity or solid experience in the development of strategies, policies and programs related to environmental sustainability and/or waste management
- Proven project management skills, with a strong record of achievement in planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating a broad range of programs and projects
- Demonstrated high level of oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, write correspondence, complex reports, grant applications and award submissions
- Ability to prepare and manage engagement material across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Availability to work flexible working hours
- Demonstrated commitment to, and an understanding of, WHS issues and EEO principles in the workplace
- Current class C driver's licence.
Remuneration and benefits
The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.
- Entry level for this position starts at $1,730.04 per week
- 35-hour working week
- Car allowance
- Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
