The Role

Reporting to the Director
Infrastructure Services, the primary purpose of the position is to provide
leadership and direction to and be accountable for the performance of the Asset
Systems and Planning Branch and to fulfill the role of asset owner’s
representative. The Asset Systems and Planning Branch is responsible to implement,
operate and continuously improve the systems and planning for the long-term
management of Council’s $1.6bn infrastructure asset portfolio.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience and understanding of
relevant local government Asset Management standards, practices and principles coupled
with extensive knowledge of local government infrastructure processes. You will
have strong leadership capability, having worked in a management role within
Local Government and you will be adept at building and leading high performing
teams with a focus on excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

Essential Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Asset
    Management, or relevant technical discipline
  • Professional Engineer’s Registration, or eligibility
    to obtain
  • Work Cover WHS General Induction for Construction
    Work in NSW (white card)
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • Extensive asset management experience
  • Well developed leadership experience
  • Previous managerial experience in Local Government
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local government
    infrastructure asset management processes, procedures and practices
  • Experience in project management and system
    implementation
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in development and
    implementation of strategies, guidelines, policies and procedures in accordance
    with relevant legislation
  • Extensive financial management experience i.e.
    budget controls, estimations, resource planning and project management
  • Proven ability to produce high quality documentation
    including reports, strategic documents, policies, procedures and correspondence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and
    stakeholder engagement skills
