Cadet – Environmental Health Officer

The Package: $849.32 - $1,248.31 gross per week + 11.5% super. (Evaluated as T4 - 10 of the QPRC Salary System 2024) and a guaranteed increase of 3% in 2025-26.

Full-time– 35 hours per week. Flexible work arrangements may apply.

Are you a driven individual who is passionate about the Environment and Public Health activities? Join our Environment Health and Biosecurity team as a Cadet. You will gain valuable practical experience while you study, with the cost of university fees and resources covered by Council.

In this role you will:
• Assist in the preparation, scheduling, review, and performance of regular routine inspections of public health premises and environmental investigations and monitoring.
• Maintain and update Environmental Health registers and records for data
interpretation and reports.
• Conduct regular sampling of drinking water to assess compliance with the Australian Drinking Water Guidelines.

We are looking for someone who:
• Is eligible for admission to, or currently completing a recognised undergraduate degree in Environmental Health.
• Can work independently and as part of a team.
• Is a self-starter with aptitude and interest in learning.

Council will meet the cost of university fees and resources such as prescribed textbooks. Four hours of study leave will be provided per week.
