Your Position:

Helps maintain the cleanliness and safety of Burwood's streets and public spaces by operating a medium-rigid street sweeper and supervising a small team. 

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:-

  • Overseeing and leading the Street Sweeping team by providing instruction and programs within set time frames
  • Operating a truck-mounted street sweeper vehicle efficiently and effectively, ensuring swept streets, kerbs, gutters, car parks and other areas are clear of debris, leaf and general litter
  • Assisting the Waste Coordinator with preparation of daily work routines and overseeing on-the-ground staff
  • Providing daily tool box talks to staff on work schedules, safety and other matters
  • Undertaking daily pre-start and end of shift heavy vehicle inspections and checks and completing required paperwork

To be successful in this role you will have:-

  • Class MR Drivers Licence 
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Experience driving a truck-mounted street sweeper vehicle
  • Experience leading a waste team
  • Availability to work out of hours and on weekends as required

Key Requirements:

  • COVID 19 vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)
  • Willingness to complete a National Police History Check (Where applicable)
  • Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment (Where applicable)
  • General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
