About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and effective communicator, to review, assess and prepare referral responses on a diverse range of Development Applications to ensure compliance with relevant policies and legislations. The ideal candidate will be a proficient communicator with the ability to effectively articulate concepts tailor communication for a variety of stakeholders. Core requirements include acting with integrity, a high degree of analytical skills and organisation, and the ability to deliver quality referral response outcomes in an efficient and productive manner.
You can expect to:
- Receive a diverse range of development applications including those associated with Bayside Council significant industrial, commercial and high density residential precincts located in proximity to Sydney Airports, Port Botany and the City of Sydney.
- Review and assess landscape designs, requirements and specifications and prepare accurate responses to enable timely decision making and outcomes.
- Provide advice to applicants and the local community on landscape requirement consistent with adopted LEP and DCP plus relevant state and national guidelines.
- Prepare Statements of Facts and Contentions and provide expert evidence in order to represent Council in the Land & Environment Court of NSW.
About you
We are looking for someone who demonstrates:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications equivalent to a bachelor's degree level and working experience in similar role.
- Working knowledge of planning legislation, regulations and Council controls.
- Current Drivers Licence Class C.
You will have current working rights in Australia and will need to demonstrate leadership and teamwork skills. You will have a desire to continuously learn, an innovative mindset, be pragmatic and not afraid to be involved in all aspects of the program, having excellent verbal and written communication skills.
