About Us

Our highly skilled Regulatory Compliance team is seeking an experience Environmental Health Officer to support them in continuing to make a true and meaningful impact on our community.
About the Role
As our Environmental Health Officer, you will be responsible for managing environmental protection and public health in consultation with the community, government agencies and other sections of Council. In this role you will undertake programmed and reactive inspections and manage compliance with legislation for public health, on-site sewage management, environmental protection and food safety. A key component of your role will involve providing technical advice to internal and external stakeholders and developing and implementing policies, management plans, and programs in accordance with relevant legislation and Council procedure.
About You
To be successful in this role you will hold a degree in Environmental Health (or related discipline/extensive experience) and have industry knowledge and experience in a range of environmental health functions including inspections, investigations and enforcement. You will have demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills, and the ability to interpret legislation and apply technical knowledge for the resolution of complex matters.
It would be advantageous if you have qualifications or experience relevant to Authorised Officers for the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997, Local Government Act 1993, Public Health Act 2010, or Food Act 2003.
Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time position working 35 hours per week with a salary range of $88,510 up to $98,246 per year based on demonstrated competencies + 11.5% super + private leaseback vehicle.
