About the role

The role of Section Manager Performance and Risk will provide day to day strategic leadership to a team of professionals to deliver customer-focused strategic business planning and performance. This work will form the basis for Council’s ongoing pricing proposals to IPART, collaborating across the Directorate and broader business on customer requirements, priorities and projects to inform and support future funding proposals. It will also have a lead role in implementing the resulting IPART determination and monitoring its performance. 

Additionally, this role will lead the team in the management of security (physical, supply chain, personnel and cyber) hazards and risks across the Water and Sewer asset base, helping to ensure service continuity and safeguard the economic and liveability of our community. This will be achieved through the provision of professional advice to the Unit Manager as well as frequent expert liaison with external authorities whose activities affect the Council.  

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualifications in Engineering, technology or business field, OR demonstrated complementing contemporary experience in a similar role. 
  • A valid Construction general Induction card - SafeWork NSW or equivalent (or willingness to obtain). 
  • Proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on quality outcomes and a customer focus.
  • Experience in large scale projects and or pricing submissions, working with regulators. 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of technical considerations relating to the strategic risk management of critical infrastructure. 
  • Extensive relevant experience in facilitation, collaboration, and implementation of change for large groups of internal and external stakeholders.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges from $170k inclusive of 11.5% superannuation. 
  • We have permanent full-time role available.
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role,
  • This role is located at the Nexus Business Hub, North Wyong.

A leaseback vehicle is provided in this role for official duties and private use and your choice of vehicle will be provided within the range of vehicles available. A vehicle allowance of $207.31 per week may be paid if a vehicle is not available immediately for your use and will be paid until the vehicle is available.

Council may create an eligibility list from this recruitment process and may utilise this eligibility list to fill other permanent or temporary vacancies.
