Gilgandra Shire Council is seeking a Trainee Activities Officer to join Cooee Lodge Aged Care Facility.

About the position
To assist in the preparation and delivery of a program for diversional and recreation activities in consultation with residents which builds individual care planning goals set by the senior staff. Assist to develop, implement and evaluate individual/group resident focused programs.
Throughout the Traineeship, you will be required to complete a Certificate IV in Leisure & Health whilst gaining practical experience.
Council will fund all related training expenses as approved by Council and the successful applicant will be employed for up to two (2) years.
Council will offer wages in accordance with the salary structure depending on age, acquired skills and experience.
- Permanent full time Fixed term 2 years
- 38 hours week
- Monday - Friday
- weekly pay cycle
- Salary range - Depending on age and experience
About you:
Council is looking for someone who has the following qualities, experience and or qualifications
- Empathy towards the elderly
- Sound verbal and written communication and negotiation skills
- Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
- Sound understanding of Work Health & Safety
- Current National Police Certificate
- Sound time management skills
- Punctual and a good attendance record
- Possess a genuine commitment to complete traineeship within required timeframes
- Positive attitude to work and the ability to work as part of a team, to help others and to learn
