About the role

The Community Services section is currently seeking an enthusiastic and committed Community Development Officer to join the team, in a full time role.

In this role, you will lead the development and implementation of projects and activities with a particular emphasis on seniors, disability and community safety to effectively plan and develop community programs and projects in accordance with Council’s identified strategies and plans.

The position will identify locals needs and priorities and achieve positive outcomes for the community.

Key Requirements

  • Tertiary or postgraduate qualification in social science or related discipline.
  • Knowledge, understanding and demonstrated experience in planning, implementing and evaluating community development projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in report writing and compilation of submissions.
  • Experience working with and supporting diverse stakeholder groups and committees to participate, engage and contribute to the delivery of agreed project goals.
  • Well-developed communication and facilitation skills with the capacity to negotiate and build partnerships across sectors and with communities to enable participation and engagement of a diversity of skills, experiences and backgrounds.
  • Ability to set priorities, with sound organisational and time management skills.
  • Current NSW Class C driver's licence.
  • Current NSW Working With Children Check.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,411.08 - $1,482.51 per week + superannuation

Position Status: Permanent Full-time

Hours of work: 35 hours per week with an RDO every third week
