About the role

This position is full-time and based at the Batemans Bay Depot.

Your main duties will include:

  • Preparing, controlling and monitoring projects for construction works or maintenance activities.
  • Managing staff, contractors, and sub-contractors, which will include providing team performance feedback and training in construction and maintenance projects.
  • Actively undertaking physical labouring and other construction or maintenance manual activities.
  • Providing customer service and/or liaising with the public, other service providers and government departments with related enquiries.
  • Preparing estimates, arrangement of quotes and providing important technical interpretation for projects or elements of projects.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range of $2,989.97 to $3,287.93 gross per fortnight comprising:

  • $2,643.75 to $2,910.98 base salary
  • $37.84 Adverse Working Conditions allowance
  • $308.38 to $339.11 superannuation (calculated at 11.5%)

A fully maintained Council vehicle for to/from home use is also available with this position!

 Appointment to this position is subject to a Medical clearance to verify that you are safely able to undertake the duties of the position.

About you

Do you have leadership skills and the ability to create a harmonious team environment? Are you a good communicator? If yes, this may be the job for you! As Maintenance Supervisor, you will primarily be responsible for leading our hard working maintenance team and preparing, controlling and monitoring projects in construction works and/or maintenance activities. To be successful in this role, you must possess the following:

  • A Certificate IV in Civil Construction Supervision or equivalent (or be prepared to undertake the required studies with Council assistance).
  • Significant relevant experience in the civil construction and/or civil maintenance environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • The ability to supervise, mentor and create willing work teams and contractors to achieve work program obligations.
