The Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Environmental Health and based in Windsor, the purpose of this position is to assist Council in efficiently and effectively managing the environment regarding pollution control and public health on a day-to-day basis, in an attempt to improve the quality of lifestyle and environment within the city.

About You

You will have demonstrated experience in Environmental Health with strong interpersonal skills. You will be adept at effectively managing conflicts, mediations and negotiations and you will display robust technical knowledge which will be required to solve complex problems. You will have experience interpreting and enforcing legislation and be accustomed to making decisions and judgements under minimal supervision.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Environmental Health)
  • Demonstrated experience in Environmental Health
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Demonstrated experience in managing conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation
  • Experience using various computer applications including Microsoft Office Suite for spreadsheets, graphs, mapping as well as other systems for property enquiries, correspondence and report writing
  • Ability to apply technical knowledge to a range of complex situations
  • Ability to interpret legislation and enforce such legislation
  • Class C Drivers Licence
  • WHS General Construction Work in NSW
  • Working with Children Check (WWCC)
