Sustainability Education Officer
- Salary $91,656.76 to $106,322.32 p/a (pro rata) + super
- Temporary part time position – 21 hours per week

Located 16 km’s north of the Sydney CBD, the Ku-ring-gai area covers 84km2, is home to 124,000 residents and set in one of New South Wales’ most attractive natural environments.
About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader Sustainability Engagement, this role will see you develop, deliver and evaluate a range of school-based community education programs and events focusing on sustainability in the Ku-ring-gai Local Government Area.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to
- Develop and manage relationships with schools and community groups
- Assist in the implementation of Environmental & Sustainability education initiatives (including flora and fauna programs, energy/waste/water management and edible gardening/composting)
- Create promotional and educational resources for community stakeholders and sustainability programs & events
- Deliver sustainability presentations/ workshops for students, staff and families.
Qualifications, Skills & experience
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline and / or relevant work experience
- Current NSW Class C driver’s licence
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current Working with Children Check
- Understanding of the key issues for living sustainably (waste, energy, water use) at home and in the community
- Experience in the design, implementation and management of sustainability education programs
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Competent in the use of MS Office programs, including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
