About the role

In this exciting and fast-paced role, you’ll be pivotal in developing and delivering strategic communications plans and marketing campaigns that resonate with and inform our local community. Key to your success is your ability to seamlessly work across multiple portfolios and collaborate with and advise internal stakeholders on their communication and marketing needs.

We’re looking for someone with a strong focus on digital marketing, who can bring expertise in areas like social media management, content creation and email marketing to elevate our campaigns and connect with our community in innovative ways.

Covering a period of parental leave, this is a full-time temporary position until January 2026. If you’re looking for a challenging and rewarding role, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Developing Communications Strategies: Craft and implement tailored, multi-channel communications plans that align with City and community needs
  • Delivering Marketing Campaigns: Create and execute innovative campaigns across digital, print, and social platforms to reach the City’s culturally and linguistically diverse audiences
  • Business Partnering: provide advice and collaborate with internal business areas on their marketing, communication and promotional needs
  • Engaging Stakeholders: manage proactive and reactive media, ensuring stakeholders are informed one hundred percent of the way
  • Measuring Success: Monitor and report on the performance of campaigns and plans, using evidence and insights to optimise future initiatives

What you will bring to the role:

  • You thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment, love multiple projects and tight deadlines
  • You have strong digital marketing skills, with hands-on experience in social media management, analytics, and content creation for various platforms
  • You have a tertiary qualification in PR, Marketing or Communications, as well as proven experience (bonus points for local government or a community-focused organisation)
  • You’ve got a flair for creating informed and engaging content for both traditional and digital channels
  • You’re a natural communicator and are able to influence and advise stakeholders from all levels
  • Customers are always front of mind, both internally and externally
