The Opportunity

Reporting to the Group Leader Technical Services, this role is responsible for contributing to the design and delivery of sustainable community infrastructure across the Council area. Key responsibilities include developing road pavement and stormwater drainage designs, managing construction projects, and leading Council’s road safety program to improve outcomes for the community.

The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Civil or Construction), recognised by Engineers Australia, or a related discipline. You will have demonstrated experience in public infrastructure, including field surveys and operating surveying instruments, a strong understanding of road design and CAD packages (e.g., 12D/Civil 3D and DRAINS), and experience in pavement design, inspection, and testing of materials. Additionally, you’ll bring expertise in preparing tender proposals and producing technical reports to a high standard.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct complex analyses and develop detailed design drawings and reports. Annual salary of $95,322 to $108,644 (plus super and 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance).

Please note:  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.  For a continuing position, you must be an Australian New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.

Australian Temporary Residents may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
