About the role

This newly created role will be instrumental in supporting senior management to create a safety culture and creating a strong work health and safety management system that will provide structure and support to business units including workplace policies, risk assessment and supporting system tools.

This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Degree qualifications in Work Health and Safety or a related discipline
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
  • Lead Auditor qualifications
  • Class C drivers licence
  • previous experience in a similar role working in a large self-insured organisation
  • proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on quality outcomes and a customer focus
  • extensive experience in a similar Work Health and Safety senior leadership role in a large complex organisation including experience in managing safety issues at an industry level
  • comprehensive experience in developing and implementing work health and safety management and compliance frameworks, including developing policies, systems, processes, auditing and monitoring of programs; 
  • extensive experience in managing incident activities, investigation of workplace occurrences and developing measures and strategies that prevent the reoccurrence of incidence and to mitigate potential risk
  • strong working knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards to deliver specialist advice, detailed reports and recommendations
  • strong interpersonal skills with the ability to confidently present to senior executives and large groups combined with the ability build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes with management and regulators to benefit or add value, to all or part of the organisation
  • demonstrated leadership behaviours, including active communication with the team in regard to performance, business strategy, diversity, coaching and mentoring and change management.

Other important information

  • The salary range for this position ranges between $120,498.15 to $144,586.83 pa (dependent on skills and experience) plus 11.5% superannuation plus vehicle allowance
  • We have a permanent full-time available
  • This role will be able to access a 19 day month
  • We are able to offer hybrid and flexible working conditions for this role - up to 2 days from home and 3 days onsite depending on operational needs
  • This role is located at the Wyong Administration Building
