About the opportunity

Our Green Space Services business unit is large and complex with over 250 staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Administrator with extensive relevant work experience who is interested in working with a busy team to help achieve deadlines, provide exceptional customer experience. This role works closely with Council's Manager Greenspace Services to assist in ensuring the business unit meets deadlines.

The successful candidate will provide a high level of customer service and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining a follow-up system for the Manager including the coordination of the Management diary. 

The incumbent will need an excellent level of communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to process and prioritise so that the business unit can run smoothly and efficiently.

Some of the duties include:

  • Coordinate the department’s VIPs
  • Correspondence
  • Liaising with the Manager and senior supervisors in the department
  • Coordinate communication and marketing for Open Space Maintenance
  • Supervise a small team of administrative assistants.

This is a great opportunity to work in one of the biggest business units of Council.

Qualifications and experience

Essential:

  • The preferred qualification for this job is a tertiary qualification in Business Administration
  • A minimum of 5 years related-work experience in an administrative function or similar role
  • Demonstrated experience using computer software programs including Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Availability to work flexible working hours
  • Current class C driver’s licence. 

Desirable:

  • Experience in Supervisory Roles
  • Experience with document management systems
  • Experience with media communication and marketing. 

Remuneration and benefits

The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council’s Enterprise Agreement.

  • Entry level for this position starts at $1,510.58 per week
  • 35-hour working week 
  • Opportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangement
