Whaleback is a picturesque golf course in Parkwood in the City of Canning, with pristine fairways and beautiful landscape.

About the Role:

As our Golf Course Greenkeeper, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the turf at Whaleback Golf Course through mowing, renovations, irrigation and plant operations. You will also work alongside a skilled team, mentor Apprentices and interact regularly with customers who share the love of golf!

In this role, you will undertake duties such as:

  • Maintaining and caring for the golf course, including mowing, fertilising and irrigating greens, fairways and roughs
  • Managing pest and weed control to keep the course healthy and vibrant
  • Operating and maintaining turf equipment for functionality and safety
  • Setting up for daily play, tournaments and events by changing holes, raking bunkers and more
  • Respond to on-site public enquiries about course maintenance, helping everyone appreciate the work that goes into keeping Whaleback pristine
  • Collaborating with a dedicated team to achieve top-notch course standards!

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience with sports turf management is essential and relevant qualifications will be highly regarded e.g Certificate III in Sports Turf Management or Horticulture
  • Experience maintaining golf courses is highly advantageous
  • Ability to identify and manage weeds, pests and diseases
  • Good time management skills, attention to detail and able to work unsupervised
  • Strong work ethic and readiness to work in a physically demanding role
  • Experience with Rainbird Irrigation System will be highly regarded
  • Valid ‘C’ class driver’s licence and satisfactory National Police Clearance
