About the role
This is a permanent full time position working 35 hours a week at the Shoalhaven Water South Nowra Depot, Flinders Road.

This role provides key engineering support to the Digital Control Systems Team in the design, construction and efficient delivery of Councils IoT and SCADA services.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Unit Manager – Digital Control Systems, the focus of this position is to:

· Provide Engineering support across all Shoalhaven Water activities

  • Manage Shoalhaven Water’s Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA).
  • Identify emerging technologies and potential applications using research and industry networks and technology platforms
  • Research and develop the future direction of the SCADA and telemetry systems of Shoalhaven Water assets and make appropriate recommendations

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will have:

  • A degree in Electrical/Computer/Telecommunications Engineering or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution or proven recognized experience
  • Current Class C Drivers Licence
  • Current NSW General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of engineering and management concepts relating to Water and Wastewater infrastructure
  • Demonstrated experience in digital communications and control systems, including experience in the Schneider suit of digital radio, telemetry and SCADA systems.

This is a grade range position, therefore in accordance with qualifications, accreditation, experience and demonstrated skills, the prospective employee will be assessed as either Grade 11 or 12.

Grade 11 (Band 2/Level 3) Grade 12 (Band 3/ Level 2)

  • $96,868 - $110,017 gross p.a. plus 11.5% Super
  • Up to 3 years’ relevant experience
  • Eligibility for Graduate membership to the Institute of Engineers (Engineers Australia)

  • $102,832 – 117,191 gross p.a. plus 11.5% Super
  • 3+ years’ relevant experience
  • Eligibility for Graduate membership to the Institute of Engineers (Engineers Australia)
