About the role

The City of Coffs Harbour is seeking an experienced and dedicated Supervisor Water (Central Location) to oversee the installation, construction operation, repair, and maintenance of the City's water supply and infrastructure, ensuring all activities align with the organisation's objectives, performance standards and procedures. This role is pivotal in enhancing our asset register and planning future works while promoting the City's values as a leader in Water Services.

In this role, you will lead water reticulation operations, ensuring high standards of quality assurance and control. You will oversee the maintenance and repair of mains, meters, disinfection systems, and reservoirs, adhering to safety and environmental standards. You'll also manage minor mains construction and meter installations, provide staff training and monitor budgets to implement necessary corrective actions.

Conducting water quality testing and managing restrictions while addressing customer complaints will be essential. Additionally, you will promote environmentally responsible practices and ensure compliance with legislation and city policies. Your responsibilities include managing a team for professional development and participating in an on-call roster for after-hours emergencies.

This position may be required to be on call outside of normal working hours with payment as applicable as per the award.

About you?

  • Cert IV in Water Operations (or equivalent)
  • General Construction Induction (White Card)
  • Class MR Drivers Licence
  • Demonstrated solid experience in the Water/Plumbing industry
  • Relevant experience working with Water systems
  • Relevant experience in a leadership / supervisory capacity
