About the role

Are you a hands-on problem solver who loves making a difference in your community? Bathurst Regional Council is looking for an enthusiastic and skilled General Assistant (Handyman) to join our team!

Work Schedule:

  • 4 days per week
  • 24 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule to help you balance work and life!

What You’ll Do:
As our General Assistant, you’ll be the go-to person for maintaining and improving our Civic Centre. Every day will be different, but your key tasks will include:

  • Fixing and maintaining the Civic Centre and Post Office building.
  • Carrying out minor cleaning, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.
  • Painting, decorating, test & tagging, and general upkeep to keep our spaces looking great.
  • Ensuring safety standards are met in everything you do.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in general maintenance or handyman work.
  • A "can-do" attitude and pride in your craftsmanship.
  • Basic knowledge of tools, materials, and safety practices.
  • Great time management and the ability to work independently.
  • A friendly personality.

This position requires a pre employment health assessment which includes a functional, audio and drug and alcohol screen.

Salary: $1,044.00 to $1,096.90 per week + superannuation

Position Status: Permanent Part-time 

Hours of work: 24 hours per week
