ADD VALUE - THE ROLE
The Library Programs Officer is responsible for developing and delivering high quality library programs for diverse audiences, and the circulation and information service duties within the Singleton Library.
Key responsibilities include;
- Circulation duties including front desk customer service, promoting a customer-centred focus, community orientated and team approach to the delivery of library services
- Develop and implement quality innovative programs and services including STEAM, digital literacy, traditional library, and outreach that deliver social, cultural, learning, and economic outcomes.
- Evaluate and review programs to ensure they remain relevant to community needs and aspirations.
- Maintain and analyse program records, including customer attendance and feedback for statistical reporting and continual improvement purposes.
- Coordinate library book clubs and acting as key liaison with community book clubs.
- Liaise with volunteers and relevant partners to develop value added programs and community initiatives.
- Identify relevant grant opportunities to fund program deliverables
Essential to this role is a Diploma of Library and Information Services or related discipline complemented by demonstrated experience in devising and implementing programs for diverse audiences and a working knowledge of new technologies, current trends and industry best practice and developments. Experience in a public library environment and knowledge of a library management system and technical equipment set-up and troubleshooting will be well regarded.
A current Working with Children’s Check (WWCC) is required for this role.
This position is offered on a term contract, part-time basis working 14 hours per week until 30 September 2027.
Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 8 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $27,253 - $30,656 per annum plus superannuation.
