Permanent Full-Time positions – 36 hours, 4 days per week
Salary: $70,980.84 - $77,546.16 + 11.5% Super
Location: Liverpool

About Us:
Liverpool City Council is positioned to lead its community through immense change over the next ten years. City Presentation covers a geographical spread of over three hundred kilometres squared and one thousand seven hundred and eighty-two (1,782) assets spread across 41 suburbs in the Local Government Area (LGA). The LGA will double in capacity over the coming five to ten years.
About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals to join the council as a Parks Operative. Our Parks teams to provide quality-based maintenance services to Council’s parks, gardens, and public trees in a timely manner.
This position is open to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only. Under the provisions of section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW), Liverpool City Council has been granted an exemption from sections 8 and 51 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW) for these Parks Operative roles.
Key Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for carrying out all works as directed by the Parks Coordinator or Team Leader in an effective and efficient manner which will include park maintenance, tree maintenance, garden maintenance, weed control, rubbish removal, landscaping, street tree planting, park furniture and equipment repair, making safe damaged infrastructure and surfaces, cleansing services, and operation of relevant plant and equipment.
You will report regularly to the Team Leader and then Park Coordinators through the completion of specific reporting formats including but not limited to: Playground Visual Inspection Report, Program completion report, Parks Plant/Tool and Equipment Weekly Report, Parks Weekly Report, Parks Action Required Report, Plant Daily Inspection/Fault Report.
About You:
To be successful in this position you must have a current Class MR Drivers License, WH&S General Induction (White Card). This is an identified position and only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons.
As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia’s First Nations people. There are two alternatives to confirming your Aboriginality, one of which must be uploaded to be considered for the role as follows. Either will be accepted:
Confirmation of Aboriginality form OR Written confirmation from 2-3 Aboriginal organisations within the community in which you live/work, which addresses the three criteria listed below:
- Is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
- Identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and
- Is accepted as such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community.
Salary will be dependent upon the relevant skills, experience, and competencies of the successful applicant.
