About the Opportunity
The primary responsibility of the role is to undertake a variety of activities related to the provision of internal financial accounting information using a mid to high end Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system. The role will facilitate ledger reconciliations, preparation of financial statements, monthly reports, support to financial operations and the undertaking of financial analysis. The role will also be required to provide a high level of support to operational managers in managing financial compliance and provide support to maintain the ERP system to ensure that costs are captured in the required manner.
What you need to be successful
Mandatory
- Diploma in Accounting or equivalent
- Demonstrated relevant experience of at least two years in a similar role
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Competency in the full MS Office suite combined with ability to learn and utilise new software
- Experience in and the ability to use an accounting system
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service, confidentiality, and ability to relate to a diverse range of people
- Current Drivers Licence
- National Police Check
Desirable
- Degree in Accounting or Finance or higher accreditation
- Experience in a Local Government Entity
- Experience using a mid to high level ERP System, ideally Technology One
