About the role

This position is a full-time role in the Infrastructure Services team based at the Moruya Administration Office. The successful candidate will provide technical support, assistance and advice to ensure the provision of quality water and sewer services.

Your main duties will include:

  • Provide administrative and technical support in relation to water and sewer operations, maintenance and construction.
  • Liaise with and advise builders, developers, architects, engineers, designers and the community regarding Council’s requirements on water and sewer policies, standards and practices.
  • Carry out investigations and prepare concept plans for water and sewer construction works.
  • Prepare contract documents and construction cost estimates for water and sewer construction works.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditures.
  • Monitor and operate SCADA and Telemetry systems and participate in a duty roster to provide after-hours support when required.

About you

You will be able to put your Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering to use in this position. You will enjoy liaising with a range of stakeholders and be good at building strong relationships. Your understanding of the role of Local Government engineers will ensure success in this position. Your application will further demonstrate the following:

  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work harmoniously in a team environment.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Experience in water and sewer investigation, design and industry standards.
  • Experience in construction and contract management.

Salary Information

Total remuneration for the role is in the range $91,853.58 to $100,809.69 gross per annum consisting of:

  • $82,379.89 to $90,412.28 base salary
  • $9,473.69 to $10,397.41 superannuation (at 11.5%)

When required by Council, participation in an on call roster is part of this position. An allowance is paid when on call.

An offer of employment for this position is subject to medical clearance to verify that you are safely able to undertake the duties of the position.
