We’re looking for a Horticulture Apprentice to join our dedicated Parks & Environment team. This is your chance to learn from experienced professionals while gaining hands-on experience in maintaining and enhancing our beautiful parks, gardens, and public spaces.

What will I do as Horticulture Apprentice?

  • Work fulltime while you balance learning a trade and attend TAFE for a Certificate III Horticulture
  • Assist with planting, pruning, and maintaining trees, lawns, streetscapes, and gardens
  • Turf mowing using different types of plant and equipment
  • Minor turf maintenance including fertilising, top dressing and turfing
  • Pest and weed control to ensure the health and appearance of our parks and streetscapes
  • Operate and maintain various plant and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and safety
  • Work collaboratively with the team to achieve and exceed maintenance standards
  • Attend TAFE lectures and completing assignments on time

Who we’re looking for:

  • You have enthusiasm and a keen interest in horticulture, gardening, and hands-on, outdoor work!
  • You have a positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt
  • You’re able to operate plant and machinery safely
  • You’re happy and ready to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • You have a strong work ethic, enjoy working in teams and listen to instructions well
  • You’ve completed year 10 (at a minimum)
  • You can commit to a 3 year Apprenticeship and studies at TAFE
  • You can provide a satisfactory National Police Clearance, and a C class driver’s license is desirable
