Description
Applications are invited for the position of GIS Officer, based at Council's Administrative Centre. The successful applicant shall be responsible for providing effective and efficient provision of GIS services and associated analysis, research, development, maintenance, integrity and security of Council’s property and spatial information, in addition to supporting the Asset Management team with general housekeeping, reporting and data collection requirements.

Essential Criteria:
Qualifications
- NSW Higher School Certificate or equivalent
OR
School Certificate and satisfactory experience; - Class C Drivers Licence.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrates working knowledge of Spatial Mapping Software;
- Understanding of the nature and purpose of Geographic and Land Information systems;
- Experience in data capture techniques of cadastral information;
- Proven successful experience in an office environment;
- Capacity to operate in an office environment using Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and other general office computer applications;
- Demonstrated ability, experience and commitment to excellence in customer service; and
- Proven high-level communication skills.
Desirable Criteria:
Qualifications
- Completion of suitable formal training in Office Administration, Geographic Information Systems, Asset Management or equivalent.
Employment will be in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Local Government (State) Award 2023. The classification for the position will be up to Operational Band 1, Level 3, Grade 6. Salary will be in accordance with qualifications and experience, and will be in a range from $1,103.27 to $1,187.32 gross per week. An enhanced salary package may be negotiated with an exceptional candidate.
