Permanent | Full-time | 76 Hours Per Fortnight

Nine Day Fortnight | Premium Recquatic Membership | 12.5% Superannuation

This position is classified as a PACS Band 6 ($83,004 – $88,996 p.a) under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

What’s on Offer

A fantastic opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanic to join the Operations team at the City of Kwinana. Reporting to the Senior Mechanic, you will be responsible for providing high quality maintenance and repairs to the City’s fleet as well as plant and equipment in accordance with manufacture specifications and industry standards. You will ensure that all servicing, maintenance and repairs are carried out safely, on time, efficiently and in a cost-effective manner.

This position will also liaise with external contractors and suppliers and will assist with the procurement of workshop consumables and spare parts.

What You’ll Need
To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Possession of a mechanical trade qualification in (Heavy Duty) or motor mechanics.
  • Possession of current HR drivers’ licence, Safety Awareness Training - White Card, Provide First Aid.
  • Demonstrated experience and sound knowledge in mechanical maintenance and repairs across a range of equipment i.e. road plant, mowers, minor plant
  • Sound understanding of Work Health and Safety principles relevant to mechanical maintenance and the workshop environment.
  • Ability to provide the highest quality of customer service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and work well as part of a team.
  • Sound numeracy and literacy skills with basic computer skills.
  • Sound level of organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines and achieve defined outcomes.
  • (Desirable) Basic welding skills and experience in gas, arc and cutting.
  • (Desirable) Previous experience working at a local government in a workshop environment.
