We are seeking an experienced and motivated Corporate Services Officer to provide a range of high-level administrative support services to the Corporate Services Directorate, Executive Unit and other Directorates as required, to facilitate the effective delivery of business operations.

Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is the peak body for councils and related organisations in our State. LGNSW advocates on behalf of members and their communities on policy to decision makers at state and federal levels. We also provide a comprehensive range of services including industrial relations representation, management services and training.

About the role

Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, this role will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Corporate Services Team and other Directorates as required
  • Monitor the LGNSW and Corporate Services inboxes and responding to enquiries or redirecting as required
  • Answer incoming phone enquiries and be the main contact for external bookings
  • Assist with record-keeping and maintenance
  • Provide administrative and support services to the Chief Executive and President during periods the Executive Assistant is on leave or where required
  • Collect and compile information for the development of briefs, documentation, correspondence, presentations and reports
  • Manage, prepare and review high level communications, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

Essential requirements

  • Substantial experience in providing administrative support
  • Excellent organisational, time management and attention to detail skills with an ability to balance conflicting priorities and work to deadlines
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills and a capacity to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in MS Office, Outlook and records management systems
  • High degree of professionalism and judgement with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
