About the roleThis is a permanent, full time position working 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday) at the Nowra Administration Building.

Manage the development and delivery of diverse infrastructure projects within the Buildings & Open Space Projects Unit through dynamic stakeholder collaboration, ensuring favourable outcomes for the community and Council. Lead the team to implement and complete projects, aligning with the unit’s responsibilities, budget and organisational goals, while fostering efficiency and innovation.

The advertised salary is based on the grade of the position, comprising of 4 steps within the range shown. The starting salary is at Step 1 within the grade. Progression through the salary steps shall be based upon the achievement of performance objectives relating to the position.

Duties
Reporting directly to the Project Delivery Manager, the focus of this position is to:

  • Providing Project Management services for the development and delivery of a wide range of infrastructure and community projects.
  • Follow processes and protocols in compliance with all relevant legislation and Council policies and procedures and ensures that risks are managed.
  • Coordinate new, upgrade or renewal works in accordance with delivery programs, from inception to completion and handover. Manage associated planning, investigation, consultation, design, procurement, scheduling, cost, and budget requirements. Ensure Council’s contracts and services are provided in accordance with all relevant legislation and standards including WHS and Environment and Quality standards.

  • Report to the Project Delivery Manager on areas of allocated functional responsibility making professional recommendations for the Manager’s consideration.
  • Preparing and administering procurement documents and contracts relating to projects being managed.

Skills & Experience
To be successful in the position, you will possess:

  • Diploma/Degree Qualifications in Project Management, Building/Construction, Engineering, or another related field.
  • Demonstrated high level project management capability
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in project managing either design development or construction of civil engineering infrastructure for local government or related field.
  • WH&S General Induction (Construction Industry) card
  • Current Class C Driver’s Licence
