About the role
The Unit Manager Network Operations and Maintenance plays a pivotal role in overseeing the management of Council’s Water and Sewer maintenance and services across various asset classes. Reporting directly to the Director of Water and Sewer, you will provide day-to-day leadership to a skilled team responsible for technical operations, asset maintenance, and scheduling. Your role will involve the strategic planning and implementation of proactive and reactive maintenance initiatives that align with Council’s long-term operational goals.
In this position, you will be instrumental in fostering a performance-driven culture, ensuring that the team operates effectively within established timeframes and budgets while promoting accountability and innovation.
This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced leader who can navigate the complexities of network operations and maintenance within the water and sewer industry. To be successful in this role, you will have:
- a degree qualification in Engineering or related field
- demonstrated experience in a senior management role within a large organisation or utility
- proven success as a leader with the ability to grow and develop teams focused on quality outcomes and a customer focus
- extensive experience in asset and facilities maintenance and operations, preferably in a Water and Sewer environment
- demonstrated experience in establishing and maintaining positive, collaborative and service and delivery oriented relationships with all stakeholders including the community
- extensive experience in budget management and financial forecasting
- extensive experience in driving capability development and ensuring team and individual performance issues address.
