Position Overview
The Library Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the delivery of high-quality library services. This position involves assisting customers with their inquiries, managing library resources, and contributing to the overall functionality of library operations across various branches.
The successful candidate will work closely with supervising staff, ensuring continuity of services, and engaging with patrons to promote library programs and initiatives.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who will demonstrate a passion for public libraries and possess strong customer service skills. A proactive attitude towards learning and collaboration is essential.
- Be prepared to undertake, currently undertaking or have completed study towards a Library & Information qualification or equivalent.
- Working With Children Check number.
- Experience in customer service, particularly in a public-facing role.
- Familiarity with digital tools and emerging technologies relevant to library services.
- Ability to conduct engaging activities for children and assist in program delivery.

- Package: $59,723 - $63,303 gross p.a. plus 11.5% superannuation.
- Hours of work: Multiple opportunities exist. Temporary and permanent, part-time and full-time. Applicants must be available to work a range of shifts across a 7 day spread, between the hours of 8:00am - 9:00pm to support the operational requirements of the libraries.
