The City of Canterbury Bankstown is one of the largest Council’s in NSW with the most culturally, socially and economically diverse communities in Sydney. We deliver 28 key services such as childcare, waste collection, parks maintenance, libraries, community facilities and aquatic centres to over 380,000 residents. 

 

 

The role

 

We are seeking a motivated individual to develop, deliver, and promote a variety of programs and events that cater to the informational and recreational needs of our community. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact through engaging initiatives that bring people together.

 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

 

  • Develop new and innovative programs that meet the needs of the community.
  • Coordinate and deliver programs and events at Bankstown Library and across Council's branch libraries.
  • Identify and develop partnerships for programs and events delivery with Council departments, community organisations, businesses, non-government, and government agencies.
  • Contribute to the promotion of programs and events through in-house publications, Council's websites, and other promotional opportunities. Liaise with Council's Corporate Communications Unit.
  • Participate in the regular process of review, evaluation and reporting of all programs, events and marketing outcomes.
  • Provide customer focussed and professional service and help maintain a positive Library environment.

You will have

 

  • Eligible for membership of Australian Library and Information Association or qualifications and experience relevant to the duties stated.
  • Working with Children Check
  • Experience in the development, delivery and promotion of innovative library (or similar) programs and events, providing quality learning opportunities and recreational experiences.
  • Proven ability to identify, evaluate and implement new programs and events.
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to delivering quality customer service.
  • Demonstrated high level communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), including high level English skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Experience in delivering programs and activities.
  • Involvement in reviewing policies and procedures
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and online database management

 

The salary range for this opportunity starts at $69728 (Grade D, Step1) + 11.5% super. Salary may be negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
