Senior Rates and Revenue Officer
- Permanent Full Time Position, 35 hours per week
- Located in Rockdale close to public transport
- $101,794 to $114,009 per annum plus superannuation

About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for a pro-active individual to support the Rates & Revenue Lead with the day-to-day operations of the Rates and Revenue team. The successful candidate will be required to provide accurate and timely information, that is compliant with legislative and operations requirements to support internal stakeholders and the Bayside community.
In this role you can expect to balance and reconcile the rates subsidiary ledger, monitor the level of debt and collect overdue rates and charges, and ensure accurate maintenance of supplementary valuations, credit balances and rating databases.
You can also expect to:
- Support the management of the rates and related debtors functions for Council.
- Undertake assessment of re-categorisations and rate exemptions in order to make recommendations on these applications.
- Process supplementary valuations accurately within set timeframes and reconcile to Council’s rate system.
- Implement and monitor debt recovery action for both rates and accounts receivable debts and implement procedures to recover these debts within a reasonable timeframe.
- Produce timely and accurate annual instalment, supplementary and other property related charge notices and sundry debtors’ notices to meet relevant legislation requirements.
- Carry out the monthly and annual reconciliation of all charges with the general ledger, including preparation of a monthly report of all aged and bad debtors.
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant qualifications and/or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge across a number of functional areas within relevant field.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and ensure results are delivered in a timely manner.
