About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and enthusiastic Engagement Coordinator to join our team. This role will see you play a key role in developing and implementing strategies to engage our community and stakeholders effectively.

As a qualified, experienced and talented Engagement Coordinator, you will lead Council's community engagement activities, utilise your skills to build stronger communities and provide opportunities for diverse communities to participate in decisions that effect their lives.

This is a Permanent full-time role, salary from $105,571.26 up to $126,222.85 per annum plus superannuation (salary package will be assessed based on skills, experience and qualifications). This role may require manual handling activities, and you may be required to work additional hours on weekends and evenings. Applicants should be suitably fit to undertake the duties as outlined in the job description.

Under Part 2, Section 6 of the Child Protection (Working With Children) Act 2012, this position has been designated as requiring a paid Working With Children Check.

What You will be doing:

Leading a team of Engagement Officers, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engagement strategies for a range of Council projects. You will provide expert advice on community engagement related matters to help deliver effective engagement outcomes. Along with developing and implementing these strategies, you'll foster best practice engagement across the organisation. This opportunity will see you develop effective working relationships with all levels of Council management and the community.

About you:

You are passionate about community engagement, possess excellent communication skills, and have a knack for building strong collaborative relationships. With extensive experience in community engagement, project management, and staff supervision, you bring a proven ability to lead, inspire, and motivate teams. Your strengths lie in guiding and mentoring others, fostering a positive and high-performing work environment, and driving successful outcomes through effective negotiation, communication, and relationship building.
