Title: Biodiversity Officer, Permanent - Full-time Role, 35 hours per week
Salary Range: $89907.72 to $104487.69 per annum + super (subject to skills and experience)

The Environment & Resilience Unit manages complex environmental and engineering programs and projects to achieve quality outcomes for the residents and the environment of the Northern Beaches. The Unit delivers the strategic and operational management of:
- Bushland and biodiversity protection and restoration including threatened species and pest species management and the control of bush fire risk
- Catchment, waterway and coastal management including ecological, risk and restoration programs
- Strategic environmental systems & programs, climate change mitigation and corporate sustainability
- Natural hazard prevention, planning, response, recovery and adpation
- Environmental education, volunteering and engagement
- Development engineering including subdivision works, development approvals, co-ordination of s94 works delivery and certification of development works
- Stormwater asset maintenance, renewals and design and construction of new assets
- Floodplain risk planning and management
- Enhance organisational and community resilience to disaster risk.

Our opportunity :
The key focus areas of this role include:
1) Provide timely technical advice on biodiversity planning matters including the assessment of development applications, reviews of environmental factors and planning proposals
2) Contribute to best-practice biodiversity projects including ecological monitoring and management of threatened species habitat and threatened ecological communities.
3) Provide effective customer service to community members and residents on biodiversity-related matters.
4) Participate in the development and implementation of biodiversity-related policies, strategies and action plans
