The Opportunity

As the Fleet and Depot Coordinator, you will oversee and coordinate the functions of the Fleet and Depot Services teams, including depot operations, purchasing and stores, fleet procurement, fleet maintenance, and mechanical engineering. Your role ensures the ongoing serviceability and efficient operation of the City’s fleet, plant, and minor equipment.

The City of Perth operates 24/7 Waste and Cleaning services, requiring high-quality servicing and preventative maintenance programs to ensure the City's plant, fleet, and equipment remain safe, reliable, and available for use.

Reporting to the Alliance Manager within our Operations team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing leadership and fostering a culture of teamwork, innovation, openness, and participation;
  • Ensuring staff understand their role accountabilities and performance standards through effective communication, feedback, and development opportunities;
  • Preparing and reviewing specifications in consultation with relevant custodians, coordinating and managing contracts, and overseeing contract-delivered works; and
  • Maintaining compliance with relevant legislation, recordkeeping frameworks, Council policies, procedures, and other frameworks.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will possess:

  • Formal trade qualifications or extensive industry experience managing a fleet workshop with a variety of vehicles and plant;
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to align diverse teams towards shared goals;
  • Proven financial management experience, including operating budgets, procurement, and capital works; and
  • Extensive experience in developing and maintaining high levels of customer service in a complex and demanding environment.

Eligibility
