Council is currently looking for a hardworking and motivated person to join the team for a 2-year traineeship in Horticulture!
We have an exciting opening to join our Tree Crew team as Tree Care Trainee. In this role you will be undertaking a Certificate III in Horticulture, as well as learning on the job with such duties as:
- Assisting with tree maintenance including planting, identification, tree removal, watering and mulching
- Assisting with Vegetation management and pruning in streets, parks and all other open space area managed by Council
- Operation of small plant and hand tools including chainsaw, pole saw and leaf blower
- Operation of larger plant including woodchipper and stump grinder
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors and wants to work in the Horticulture field. We're looking for someone who has a strong work ethic and great communication skills. You'll also be adaptable, have the ability to follow direction and work as part of a small team and want to help make our parks, gardens and open spaces the best that they can be!

Interested?
To be successful in this position you must:
- Have a demonstrated interest in Horticulture
- Be able to successfully enrol in and complete a Certificate III in Horticulture as part of a 2 year traineeship
- Have a current Provisional or Class C drivers licence (or be able to obtain within the duration of the traineeship)
- Have a NSW General Construction Induction (White Card) (or be able to obtain prior to commencement)
