Fostering inclusive, respectful, and collaborative relationships between Council and our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to strengthen community bonds and support those in need.
About the role:
- Key point of contact between Council, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Communities, service providers and government agencies.
- Strong and inclusive community development and advisory role in relation to its specific client group.
- Identifies needs through community consultation and initiates, coordinates, and facilitates subsequent project development and implementation.
- Initiate, coordinate and facilitate projects, services and groups to create a strong and inclusive community particularly relating to the well-being of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

We are seeking:
- A person of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
- Experience in a Community Development role related to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island issues.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High-level interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation, conflict resolution, report writing, and funding submissions.
- Capacity to network, communicate, and develop cooperative working relationships with a wide range of community groups and services.

Where it's located:
This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
