About the position:
Are you someone who is detail orientated and a proactive communicator with excellent decision making and organisational skills?
An exciting opportunity exists for a Corporate Governance Officer to support the Corporate Compliance team in delivering services and initiatives to fulfill governance and compliance requirements for the City of Greater Geraldton.
If you have a keen interest in governance and legislative compliance requirements then you will enjoy the opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive team environment to contribute to good governance and transparency in the workplace.
This position is offered as a full-time permanent position to the successful candidate.
Key accountabilities:
- Provide high level administrative assistance in the production and collation of reports and documents relating to the corporate services function.
- Facilitate and assist the review of Governance policies, procedures and processes within the required statutory requirements under the Local Government Act 1995, and the Freedom of Information Act 1992.
- Assist in the administration of the City’s Insurance portfolio, which shall include processing of insurance claims, general insurance enquires and coordinating of the documentation for the annual insurance renewal process.
- Provide professional, timely, and accurate information regarding the organisation’s governance, insurance obligations, and regulatory requirements to City employees.

Position requirements:
Candidates should have experience in administration, governance, risk or legal services in government agencies. Ideally the successful applicant will possess a Degree or Advanced Diploma qualification in Business, Governance or Risk and relevant experience, or lesser qualification with significant experience.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
The Corporate Governance Officer position has a salary starting from $84,883 up to $95,424 per annum or from $42.9568 up to $48.2914 per hour, offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
