The Position:-
The Environmental Health Officer works within a team, conducting assessments and inspections of all regulated premises within the Local Government Area (LGA). These include Retail Food Premises, Cooling Towers, Skin Penetration Premises, Boarding Houses, Hair and Beauty Salons, Underground Petroleum Storage Systems and Restricted Premises.
This role also provides technical advice in relation to proposed development applications, investigating localised public health and pollution incidents, and works closely with Council’s Compliance Investigation Officers regulating other general health provisions.
The Person:-
To be successful in this role you will have:-
- Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Health or related, and/or equivalent demonstrated work experience in a similar role
- Confident and effective communication skills
- Drive and enthusiasm for your job
- An innovative and flexible approach in the workplace
Key Requirements:-
- COVID-19 vaccination for all employees (2 Vaccines)
- Willingness to complete a National Police History Check
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment health assessment
- Current Driver's Licence
- Local Government working experience an advantage
