North Sydney Council administers the North Sydney local government area on Sydney’s picturesque lower North Shore. Our 400 employees look after 77,000 residents spread across 10 square kilometres of land on the foreshores of Sydney Harbour providing spectacular harbour views, beautiful parklands, and a bustling CBD.
The role
We currently have a part time opportunity available for a reliable, customer service champion to join our dedicated Parking Stations team - Based at our Central Depot in Cammeray.
The Parking Station Attendant will work across all North Sydney Council car parks and will have responsibility for the day-to-day operations. This will include operating and maintaining parking equipment, helping customers with entry and exit to the carparks, assisting with customer payments, completing shift reports and other paperwork, and providing outstanding customer service. These services are provided in person, and remotely using electronic systems such as CCTV and intercoms.
The standard roster allows for a 44-hour working fortnight:
Week 1 Roster
Monday - 11:15am to 18:30pm (6.75 hours)
Saturday – 6:30am to 13:45pm (6.75 hours)
Sunday – 6:30am to 15:30pm (8.5 hours)
Week 2 Roster
Monday - 11:15am to 18:30pm (6.75 hours)
Saturday – 6:30am to 13:45pm (6.75 hours)
Sunday – 6:30am to 15:30pm (8.5 hours)
From time to time, hours will vary to suit operational requirements.
The person
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a parking operation, service station or similar environment, and will be able to clearly demonstrate that they meet the following criteria:
- Electronic payment transaction experience
- Demonstrated ability to operate an electronic or computerised point of sale system
- Developed interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution skills
- Sound written and verbal communication skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Computer literacy, including skills in Excel, Word and the use of database applications
- WHS General Induction White Card for NSW, or ability and willingness to obtain
- Class C Driver's Licence
- Previous experience working in a parking station (Desirable)

Hourly rate from: $30.02 to $35.77 ph + 11.5% superannuation + transport allowance
25% Sat and 50% Sun shift penalty rates apply
